More than flowers

More than flowers

Like we said, people can be compared with flowers, in beauty, but also in lifespan:

People fade quickly like flowers in the grass…
The grass withers, and its flower falls away…

Sad but true, isn’t it? Our lives are over just too quickly, even when reaching old age it will feel like that. You can find it in similar words in the Bible[1], God’s Word[2].

Proof of nature

God is the One who made the flowers, as well as people. When looking deep down in your heart, you could know He is there. Just like all people can, even those living in remote places or in former times[3]. The nature and life-circumstances here on earth are just too perfect to be coincidence or the result of a Big Bang.

Just compare it to a box with all kind of necessary screws, bolts and nuts. If you’d shake the box, would you get a smoothly running watch? We won’t give long arguments to prove there is a God: nature is God’s proof. By simply looking at nature, every person is able to understand there must be a God Who designed it all. God created heaven and earth [4], it’s just a fact. He gave life to both humans – you too[5]- and animals[6]. Even the smallest insect or flower proves the incredible creativity and intelligence of its Creator.

Stretch out

Some people simply deny God’s presence. They may even think they’re more smart than people who do believe in God[7]. Or they believe “there is something”, but do not care to find out what/Who it is[8]. What is your way of thinking? Don’t harden your heart[9]: just start searching[10] and stretch out to God, He will do the same to you[11]. To Him you are way more important than the flowers[12] !

Just give it a thought

This great God, our Creator wants to get in touch with you. Let’s see what God has on His mind[13]!

[1]

“Shout that people are like the grass. Their beauty fades as quickly as the flowers in a field. The grass withers and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the Lord. And so it is with people. The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:6-8)

“All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you. (1Peter 1:24-25)

[2]

The entirety of Your Word is truth… (Psalm 119:160)

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth. (John 17:17)

… God, Who cannot lie… (Titus 1:2)

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God… (2 Timothy 3:16)

… for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21)

[3]

For since the creation of the World His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:20)

And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.
Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead. (Acts 17:26-31)

[4]

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. (Psalm 19:1)

God, Who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. (…) we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. (Acts 17:24-25 & 29)

[5]

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all are written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. (Psalm 139:13-16)

[6]

But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; and the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in Whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind? (Job 12:7-10)

[7]

The fool has said in his heart “There is no God” (Psalm 14:1 & Psalm 53:1)

The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God;
God is in none of his thoughts. (Psalm 10:4)

[8]

… although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened. (Romans 1:21)

[9]

Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts… (Hebrews 3:8, 3:15, 4:7 & Psalm 95:8)

[10]

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)

[11]

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8)

For Your wondrous works declare that Your Name is near. (Psalm 75:1)

But it is good for me to draw near to God… (Psalm 73:28)

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (Revelation 3:20)

[12]

If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? (Luke 12:26-28)

[13]

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways”, says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

“… so shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
